sounds like you are taking the right approach. Just be patient, start with something small to help gain knowledge. If you fail its no big deal, and as long as you are learning then its impossible for it to be a failure since you got something positive out of it.
I would say to just do something, anything. Just get started.
Also, a good article to read would be Starting a Business, it was written by my personal business consultant.
Never stop learning and gaining more knowledge; and things will improve over time.

A great way to get your feet wet in any business type, would be referrals or affiliate marketing. You learn many many skills (sales, managing, and tactics) with no risk. Don't join affiliate programs that require you to pay them, instead join free ones. My sig has an affilate program for product sourcing, I've made a few sales just posting around ($74 /commission). All you really need is a good sales script.
Also a good way to make some money is advertising revenue through any of the text based advertising programs out there (google) by posting ads in your blogs or various websites.
Cheers.

Nothing to sell you, just good honest information about the drop ship business!
Jalane, you have legitimate questions. Here's the thing to think about. If you join a business that pays you $30-$50 your going to have to talk to and sign up a lot of people. It takes money to make money. So if you join a program that costs $3500 and each sale you make $2000 or so, you will have to talk to alot of people still because not everybody can afford $3500 and the smaller amounts aren't enough to really keep someone committed because it's easy to walk away from $30-$50. If you want to hear about what I'm doing you can check out this website that'll give you a call schedule of our informational calls and get to know what we are doing and what it's all about. You can check out some testimonies there as well. This is a way to kind of listen in with out having to say anything at all and learn about our team, which by the way is the top team in our business. Click my signature to learn more before the call. Good luck in whatever you decide to do. Take care and GOD bless

More than anything you must be very passionate about what you are trying to do.
Unfortunately risk are a part of becoming an entrepreneur.
Another tip is that it takes just as much effort to market a small ticket item as it does a large one. The pay off on the larger tickets make it more worth your efforts. More to get started, but you will make quite a bit more on the return and give you some breathing room.

ahhh. Everyone seems to have a blog about starting a blog(or site). I can't take it. Best to avoid these.
So here's some questions to ask yourself.
What are my skills?
What are my interests/passions?
Could my interests/passions and skills work together?
The fact is you can do consulting from home. Consulting is a vague word, but essentially it's the business of selling your expertise. There's a million different things you can do and it really comes down to your imagination. (And having the guts to do it)
For example, you can do a travel consulting. Sort of like a travel agent, but stick with a niche.
Let's throw out something here. Let's say one of your interests is hunting. You like hunting doing all that hunting like stuff. I don't hunt, so I don't really have much information on it. Let's say you live in New Hampshire which is a good area for hunting and you go out every weekend.
Obviously there is a market for hunters wanting to go places to hunt. Like a hunting vacation. Most people are busy people, they have a fulltime job, they have kids, and obligations, etc. They call you up, they want to go hunting in New Hampshire, and you sell "hunting packages". So you get them a log cabin out in the sticks in an area you know has the best game. If there is some sort of legal documentation for hunting you can set that up. As well as places you have to pay to go hunting. You can book all that. And you charge 10% commission. Also you'd probably get a lot of city people that are interested in hunting and don't really know much about it. You could go out hunting with them for a few hours and show them the ropes and bill them a couple hundred for it.
This business would need a phone, a computer with internet, for email and website. You can always pick up business cards later.
Very simple, low cost, business idea.
But you should hopefully understand what I mean. It's about doing something you like, something you're interested in.
Hope this helps.
Hey guys. Now this sounds like spam but it isnt, just letting you guys know about an offer on the net at the moment.
There's a giveaway company that are currently giving away minimacs (worth over £400). You need to sign up with the company then join a 'scheme'.
Now i joined coral the online bookmakers, all i had to do was deposit £5 and play it through (bet it all). I actually won my bet too, so made a bit of money there!
Once you have an scheme completed, all you need to do to get your free minimac is refer 10 friends to do the same! Think about it, even if you paid your friends £5 each to do this you would still be getting a brand new minimac for £50. If you then sold it you would be making £350 profit. Oh and they deliver it to you for free too.
And if you're wondering how can companies afford to 'give away' such items, its because they are being paid literally millions by comapanies like coral to get you to sign up to their schemes.
And how do i know this works.... because ive done it myself and made a lot of money. Just letting fellow entrepreneurs know, as im always trying to come up with new ideas about making a bit of extra money on the net!
Anywhoooo, hope you found this helpful, sorry if this has annoyed anyone, as i suspect some people will think this is spam!
