Hello. Ok so i am pretty sure there is a lot of people on here with the same idea , starting a clothing line, well thats why i am here. I need to gather more information, from those that have started there own line, i would like to learn as much as possible from day one when you started to where you are at now, timeline, i think this would be beneficial for both party.

Basically, i have screen printing marked off the list, have a buddy that runs a screen printing shop and has over 10k invested in his own tools at home. Financial wise, should be good planning on selling my home and starting with a base of 50-100k. Designing side, i'm a pretty good designer myself with lots of experience over the years. Marketing, got lucky and have some good buddy's that will squeeze in a few favors to get my foot in the door with some big name Department Stores also have access to a lot of hot night clubs in the O.C. area that can be used for promotion. Business Proposal is complete from budgeting, timeline, designs, and just about all the basic necessity all complete and ready for presentation.

Now i am here, basically to get some ideas and some feedbacks both negative and positive from those who have started there own line. I know there will be a lot of trial and errors, that is why i am here for help in order to minimize the errors in turn around save money on production cost. My plan, is to stick to regular cotton shirts/longsleeves/hoodies as the basic first step, when printing the first few batch of apparels. That way, it wont cost as much when there are errors, then once everything looks good to move on , step it up one notch and start doing higher end fabrics, now does this seem practical ?? I know its going to take some time, and hopefully within the next couple months i will be able to quit my day job and just focus all the time on this business.

So basically, am asking for the public help on any keynotes i can use to help minimize error and be more efficient with time. many thanks in advance.
