I have not been here in a while. I am 25 and finished a masters in music and new media technology last year. This year I have been out in Colorado taking some counseling classes, but am realizing it is not what I want to do.
Ultimately I want to have some successful businesses. My fiancee and I have created a niche product for the medical field, specifically people who are in the surgery room. It is probably not a million dollar idea, but it will be profitable and give me experience and possibly lead to new inventions.
I am also interested in affiliate marketing. I plan on starting a blog to push bodybuilding products that I think are good. I do not expect this to get me rich (at least not in the next year).
In the mean time I do not want to stay in school just to do so. I was thinking of a PhD. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership, partially because of Marty Nemko's beaming review of the profession, party because it is a doctorate.
I do not think I have it in me. I can't help but think there are jobs out there I would like that I can obtain with my current masters. Like I said, ultimately I want to be my own boss, run my own business and be financially secure.
Can you make some recommendations as to jobs that would provide the right kind of experiences.
PS: anyone in affiliate marketing know if having a sales job related to the products you promote online is a beneficial combination, eg: promote xyz muscle supplement online and as an actual 9-5 sell the product?
Thanks everyone. If any of my passage is unclear, I am sorry. I am feeling so disheartened right now with all my education, but no money, no job, and felings of helplessness as to where to start. I have a beautiful fiancee almost done with Podiatry school and I want to be able to contribute to our finances, not mooch. This is in part why it is so important to be successful with our invention or some sort of business, because I do not want her to feel like she has to work long hours for the rest of her life.![]()
