Hey, we need help with the company name.

We launch international company and choose the name 'Wizort'. That's not simple task to find name which would sound good for people from different countries. Let us know if any bad associations, slang or any bad words.

We highly appreciate any comments about this name.

In English it sounds like "wizard" (Magical man, like a witch) and "wart" (growth on skin) mixed together. Not sure what your going for, but might want to keep that in mind.
It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something. - Franklin D. Roosevelt

I dont know of any negative associations, that doesnt mean that there isnt any. There are some really cool logo designs that i can think of though but there is a negative i see, Google tries to autocorrect everyones mistakes so when someone searches for wizort in google you have to beat out all the wizard results. With the harry potter websites out there and tons of others it will be a difficult task to say the very least. That will only be an issue if you are relying on organic search results.

After all is said and done, it doesn't really matter what you call your business. Once you have been using a name for a couple of months it will become second nature. You could open a dictionary at random, stab a pin at the page and no matter how obscure the word you picked, after a year of trading you wouldn't be able to imagine your company being called anything else.

Of course, a good memorable company name is a bonus.

What kind of company is it? That would probably help with whether or not it's a good name.

I agree with MyMela. It would give us a picture of your business and help us to provide better answers.

On the other hand, I would check your business name in different languages, maybe look up the meaning in dictionaries. I heard of some companies that have blamed themselves because they insulted a specific culture, country, or nation...

I second Mabu on making sure your name is inoffensive...though I think this matters much less if it's only a local or regional company and not one that does business internationally.
