    Help wanted!

    Hello,
My name is Bob and I am 20 and a senior in college. I have a very ambitious desire to start up my own business. I am very good online selling, researching, and I understand marketing very well. I have sold products on ebay since I was in 8th grade.I know many different people in many different businesses but I can't decide which business is the best to start an online company with. Here are my top 3 choices from favorite to least favorite. I would realy appreciate any advice anyone can give me on how you feel the market and competition is right now.

    1. I would start from costume jewelry and as it grows move to Sterling Silver and Gold Products. It would be mostly cheaper gold and jewelry.

    2. Start with shower curtains and accessories, draperies, and custom draperies. Eventually I may be able to get into kitchen textiles and tablecloths to go along with the bath and curtains line. I want to stay focused on products like that and grow at a steady pace. I do not want to bring all the products along at the same time.

    3. My third idea is warehouse supplies and third party logistics. It would start off being a reseller of labels and printer products. This would not only be a website business it will be an offline busines as well. This means that there will be a lot of telemarketing at first to get the business out there. I will work on low margins just to get the customers and build capital so I can grow my business.

These are some of my ideas and I really appreciate the help!
    BOB

All I will try to say to you is to stay within your means, the goal of your company should be to do what you want to do, not financial. You will not be able to grow the company exponentially if this is your goal. I would recommend get a job paying 35k a year plus start your company.

Are you talking about running retail or wholesale operations? I'd personally think the retail end of the #1 and #2 ideas is rather saturated.

Pick the one that allows the best and most logical growth into the others (obviously they are different products, but elements of working with each are used for all three I'm sure). Then grow into the others one by one. It will take a little longer, but that will also allow you to master the method for each one, and the revenues generated from each will assist your growth so you don't have to risk so much all at once.

Research to your hearts content and follow your gut, but ultimately you won't know until you try.
If you want to be rich, sell products and services.
If you want to be insanely rich, create and control markets.
I must create a system or be enslaved by another mans; I will not reason and compare: my business is to create.
