Help needed with "no solicitation" policies

i intend to distribute a free document at my college. Unfourtunatly they have a no solicitation policy. I spoke to the woman in charge and she was very blunt saying that no outside organizations have the right to distribute anything on school property. IS there any way around this problem or should i look into distributing them elswhere?

If its a positive document i dont see why you cant do it. Talk to someone higher than the lady and have everything and talk about why it will help the college and or students

Giving away free stuff is not soliciting, especially if it is somehow informative.

Woman in charge of what? Solicitation policies? Start handing out your stuff around campus, leave it on tables, bulletin boards, and whatever. If they stop you just say you didn't know, what are they going to do fine you? Pfffssh.

They are right, solicitation is just that "solicitation", when you hand out flyers you are not soliciting anything from them. Be careful though, if there policy does state in definite terms that they don't allow distribution of ANY materials then be smart about it...

start up an on campus group
entrepreneurs club or what have you
now you write up a business plan so it is legitament and say you are doing market research on advertising pricing etc
actually run the club - feedback from others will be invaluable

Try to think of places where college kids hang out and distribute them there. Local coffee shops, book stores, etc. Perhaps make a digital version and post info on how to download it.

There are free magazines and newspapers that circulate college campuses. You should look into getting an advert. Local hang outs, laundry mats, frat and sorority houses may let you post your things in their premises.

Just a few idea out of the box. It only takes a bit of creativity to get around red tapes.

I agree with the "form an organization" idea, or JV with an existing one.

If you do it through an existing organization, then you are not an "outside organization", you are a part of the school.
