Arrow Help from all you imaginative ones out there.

K im a first time poster, long time viewer,

question 1

Anyway im going to start a speed dating service in my hometown Portadown, Northern Ireland,( there is a need for it). I have ben in talks with a fashionable bar to host the events which i recon cud be bi weekly. I have negotiated the first floor bar for £85 for the night and hope to charge £15 per person (want 50 people, 25 male 25 female in 30s - 40s age group). I will get another associate and pay him to help me with the running of the events on the night. With these figures in theroy i can make a nice wage from this.

The question is i need a good marketable name for the speeddating service,,,,some i like but cant use due to it beign taken is: gooseberry, ditch or date etc etc.

Can anyone come up with a good professional name for the service...

question 2

for a long time now ive thought of proivding something for university students.....something that they go online and pay a one off registratino fee of £1. any ideas

best regards

Hi! Such a small forum but such a small world too...I live in Banbridge, Co. Down! lol.

Sounds like a good idea, don't think there are many speed dating type events in N. ireland. Which bar is it you are doing this in? Best of luck, and be sure to PM me if you are looking for a partner

Answer 1
How about something random? (example - Google is very random with no actual meaning). Something witty might also be good, sly suggestions about age or maturity for example.
Ah well, might get your imagination flowing in a different direction

Answer 2
A weekly classified magazine or letter? A student newspaper? How about looking at near-by universities and comparing them to other universities - see what you local ones dont have compared to these other unis. And then theres good old market research, interview students, or send questionnaires to, students in local universities. Find out what their interests are, what they need, what they want... Findout whatever!

Hope this helps,

Ciao, Sam

Actually Google does have a meaning. It's derived from the word Googol, meaning a number that is equal to 1 followed by 100 zeros. For more useless information feel free to pm me

We learn something new every day don't we lol! Well, for people who didn't know that, Google would appear to be a random name
