They are great for the fundamentals of business startup. They will help with the basics of business planning, registering your business, etc. They claim to be retired executives. If you need anything more than the basics, it may be a waste of time... or that was my experience at two local SCORE chapters. I've heard some people have hit the motherload but my experience has been that they are great for a starting point with pure basics but not much else.

It's worth the free consultation to see if you have any great mentors in there...

I agree. They are helpful with basic info. After that, you're pretty much on your own.
