    Help for hubbie

I know this is an entrepreneur's forum so you all are probably very money conscious. That is why I need your advise for my own personal reasons.
Times are tough for everyone right now and I heard Suze Orman saying that they are just getting tougher for the middle class. I have talked to my husband about tightening the belt on finances but he just doesn't believe we need to. I am afraid for our future and was wondering if anyone had any magical words that may open his eyes to what is going on in the world. I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic. Any help?

Its real easy actually, spend when everyone is saving and save when everyone is spending. If you do this you'll always be in a good position when tough times come.

I like Gaulkin's advice. Some good advice is also in the book The Richest Man In Babylon. Some people however just won't listen. Those are the people who falsely think that they're rich because they can always get a credit card. Well, the banks hand out credit cards to 18 year olds and illegal immigrants and people living in shacks in the Ozarks. Now that the credit has dried up, they're panicking. Some people just seem hardwired to spend. It's not always females either-I've heard or know of a number of men who spend and spend. It's always difficult when one spouse is financially responsible and the other one is not. I wish I understood human psychology enough to know the answer, but then I wouldn't be reading forums, I'd be doing research at Harvard and displaying my Nobel prize. If you're nearly bankrupt because hubby spent too much, it's a little late. If it's just "fear", then try to educate him.

Definitely have him read The Richest Man in Babylon. Its a great book and an easy, quick read. It might help him to put things in perspective. Good Luck!
