Help finding an Investor

Does anyone have any advise on how to find an investor? We are an established clothing and accessores store geared towards teens and young adults, with a punk rock theme. We are looking to expand, and would like to find an angel or silent investor, but not sure where to start. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Katie

The "Best" way to find investors is through a mutual friend or contact. Someone who can introduce you to the investor. This is helpful for many reasons, the primary one being that if you are introduced through a common friend or connection you will instantly have more credibility with that investor.

Absent knowing somone who can introduce you, try google. I know in my area (Boston) if you type in Angel Investor(s) or any similar combination, a ton of names and sites will pop up giving you lists of Angel groups etc. I am sure there are plenty in South FL.

However, the hard part is not "finding" investors, it is convincing them to invest in you and your project. Be prepared to present a thorough business plan and have your pitch down pat before you even attempt to contact these people. Nothing will damage your credibility more than actually getting to talk with an investor and not being prepared.

Also, using the search function on this site might prove helpful as well. Good luck
