Hey Folks,

I'm about to open up a business checking account and was curious if I should watch out for any pitfalls before I sign up. All the ones I'm considering have no monthly fees and no minimum balances.

As of late, I'm leaning towards Washington Mutual or Compass Bank....

My only advice would be to try to find a bank that can help you with merchant services, credit cards, and other business services. If you can, find a local bank, it's always nice to walk into a bank and talk to a live person if you have a problem or need some advice.

It depends on what you need. If you have bad credit, and need a credit card with your bank account, you can use wells fargo's secure card, which everyone is accepted. Bank of America is ranked sba's #1 bank and #1 for small biz loans. I use Bank of America and like them alot.

find a bank that is open during decent hour too, my bank is great but they piss me off because the lobby is only open 10 - 4 and i go to school 9-4 its almost impossible to go sign for a wire transfer.
