Health Insurance

Being pretty new here, I'm not sure if this has ever been discussed, so bear with me.

I'm sure the rest of you know as well as I do that good health insurance is expensive. Would it be possible to form an official (an actual entity, not just a messege board) "young entrepreneur" group that could approach insurance companies and get a group rate?

I think a legit non-profit organization comprised of young entrepreneur would be able to use our numbers to our advantage.

Please feel free to comment with the ups and downs of such an idea

It doesnt necessarily have to be a 'young entepreneur' group. It is likely your local chamber of commerce, provincial/federal chamber of commerce, or small business lobby group (in Canada it is the CFIB, http://www.cfib.ca/) will have an affiliation that will get you preferred rate.

Yeah, check your local chamber of commerce. Many of them already offer group discounts on health insurance.
