    Having users pay monthly fees

Does anyone have any information on this topic? I am (finally) building a website, almost like a job listing mixed with rent a coder, but its for one specific type of job.

The problem I am having is knowing whether to charge job seekers a small monthly fee of $4.99 to be able to view and apply for these jobs. The money would be recycled back into the website through advertising.

2 month goal: 100 job seekers (World wide) x 4.99 per month = 499.00 a month for advertising.

With this being a key point, and several other, I think job seekers would jump on this opportunity with a month free.

    Comments and questions welcome.

I don't see why anyone would pay when there are already tons of websites offering the same service for free....I'm not saying its a bad idea, but if you're going to charge a monthly fee, you should be offering them something that other free sites are not.

If you are thinking monster.com, careerbuilder.com, or any of the above, then forget about it. You should think more along the lines of rent a coder, you can have more than one of these jobs in one week, no interviews, just doing your job. And the good thing is that ANYONE can do it...no special training needed...if you do your job over expectations, the jobs keep coming back.

The idea is that I would do major advertising for these jobs to keep coming back, plus its something that everyone needs.

I do appreciate your comment though, but those websites are way different...remember only one occupation with different categories of jobs.
