    Having Trouble with My Website

    Hi,
I run the website Free Financial, Economic and Stock Advice | Fiscal Frenzy and I'm having lots of trouble getting the people who go to my site to sign up for our free membership. I have added a spot to simply enter your email on the front page of the site as well as the free subscription link to subscribe for our newsletter, however no one is ever subscribing. I am wondering whether the design is detracting or what it is that people dont like.

Thanks for all the help in advance,
    ttfrenzy

I visited your website so I would be able to give you some genuine advice and here it is. Your website is terrible. Without knowing anything other than you offer advice, I immediately thought with a website this terrible, their advice must be terrible too.

I do not mean to beat up on you, I am just pointing out what others may not tell you.

Thanks for the response, i guess.... why do you think its terrible simply because it has financial analysis?

Your content has nothing to do with it. If I was looking for financial advice and financial analysis, I would look at a few websites and pick the best one.

Then why exactly is it that you deem my website "terrible"?

Your website is not terrible, but it is a little boring and plain. Perhaps you could add some color to the site. I think all the adsense ads are also very distracting and may deter some potential prospects. As far as the newsletter is concerned, I would offer a great free product or perhaps an ecourse for them to learn something. Something that will entice them to want to give up their email to you. You should also add a privacy policy link.

Just out of courtesy, what makes your advise good advice? How are you qualified to offer advice? If I was looking for advice I think I would want to know a little about the person offering the advise.

    Hope this helps.

Perhaps apply a new template to your site. Get some more color and add some more/better artwork (especially around the sign-up area). That area, BTW, happened to be the last area I looked at. You want it to draw attentions.

The ads aren't really deterring. People who have ad blockers won't see them, people who have been on the internet long enough are not effected by them, and the rest may find the ads helpful (ads must be doing something right or people wouldn't be paying for PPC).

Just make the site look nicer, I haven't had the chance to look at the content specifically, but I bet once you get it looking nicer, your visitors will let you know what they think of your advice.

Thanks for the replies both of you...
I've been trying to add some color but cant think of a way to fit it in, sometimes I add pictures to some of the articles but I find it very difficult to integrate any color
In response to the adsense ads, i have tried to make those not distract you from the actual content and hope that has been working.
There is a privacy policy link at the bottom and also if you subscribe through the free subscription navigation link, i have now added one to the mini subscription bar on the right.
There is an about us at the bottom of the site also.

    Thanks for the other suggestions,

Try to add images to all of your posts from now on, that helped me.

And add color, just change your CSS up a bit. Find a color scheme generator and pick a scheme you like.
