Have you tried the Jim Carrey way to make your money?

Jim Carrey has been known for writing a blank check to his name and dating it as if he was sure he was going to get it and sure enough he did.

Some would call this method, "visualization"

I've been trying way before I knew about the Jim Carrey story and it has worked very well for me.

Have you tried this method? If yes, how has it worked for you? and if not, what has been your reason?

Please note that I'm not talking about stupid magic tricks of writing a sizeable check and then like magic having the funds there, so refrain from commenting on that context.

Yes, visualisation works as long as the key ingredient is there. And that would the feeling.

Visualising without every believing it is possible just won't work. If you can feel what it would like to have what you want, and keep that feeling, you belief level increases.

Visualisation is just another piece of nonsense made by 'business experts' who cannot DO so they TEACH. Instead of wasting your time visualising your success...the best thing to do is get off your ass and start making it happen otherwise you will find yourself visualising yourself living in a cardboard box.

Interesting concept. I'm just curious, once you get off your ass, what do you propose the person do so he/she knows what direction to take?

Actually, Grizzly there are countless examples of visualization being used by successful people in a variety of fields (not just business). The first person to climb Mt. Everest actually used visualization. Many German gold medal olympic alpine skiers also use visualization as a method of training. I think whether we recognise it or not, everybody uses visualization in some capacity.

Ah but the use of visualisation in a physical capacity is different to that of an intellectual business capacity. Visualisation used in sport is a modern idea of meditation and focus of the mind which gives the individual the extra push they require to train harder and faster...or in the case of climbing a mountain...stamina and endurance.

But visualising yourself as a successful business man won't draw the money in.

You determine your direction through careful planning and research of the market, searching for gaps or ways to improve existing products or services.

Depends on your mental makeup and whether or not it can feul your motivation and subsequent action. As was mentioned, just visualizing something without followup means absolutely nothing.

Motivational

I agree with Grizzly, the real work is in getting things done.

However, a lot of people, such as my wife, suffer from a lack of motivation, and this is where visualization can help. Dreaming... getting yourself excited about possibilities can be a powerful motivational force... and for even those of us that are already motivated, it can catapult us into new areas of imagination.

I don't do enough of it, and am thinking I should do more... to balance out my diligence. AIM EVEN HIGHER!
