Have you ever take out a student loan?

I am not a big fan of loans however i did have to take some out for college. Anyhow what i wanted to see is how many of you all have taken out student loans before and how much you took out? What is a responsible amount to take out? What are the positive / negative parts of a student loan?

I would not have been able to finish school with out loans. I borrowed $32K to finish my last two years. The responsible about is the exact amount you need to pay for your classes. I had a lot of friends that would get tricky and drop classes so they could get refunds. The ended up owing a lot more then they should have. You get 20 years to pay back your loans... don't sweat it... this is part of the experience for those of us without money from our parents. I have never regretted borrowing money to get an education.
