Has anyone on YE applied for SBA 8(a) certification?

I’m bidding on a government account and one of the requirements is that my company be SBA 8(a) certified. I have a meeting with SCORE on Monday to talk about applying for this certification. I’m just wondering if anyone on here has any info that would help me? I hate going to meetings so blindly.

I don't have personal experience with it, but I have read about the programs before.

This is what I remember from my memory...
You mention certification and a federal contract above, this isn't the 8(a) program I don't think. The 8(a) is a program, not a certification. The SBA has an actual certification program called the "Small Disadvantaged Businesses" SDB Certification that is used for federal contracts. But the 8(a) and SBD certifications are related in some way, I think if you qualify for one you automatically qualify for the other or something like that. But you could probably get this info from the SBA website.

Sorry I can't be more help
