    Growing my business

I am rebranding my web design firm over the next month and i want to get business flowing ASAP. How would you recommend growing a business from grass roots?

The best way to grow a business without expense would probably be word of mouth advertising. You can have a graphic in your signature on this forum or any other forum you frequent, that links to your site. Your site however doesn't work, I clicked the link and nothing came up.

Begin to advertise through twitter too. Once you get a few customers, ensure their satisfaction, that is key. If they are happy with your services, they WILL refer you to others, believe me. In addition, you can invest some money into advertising on sites, however, that might be a step too advanced. If you will be able to handle the amount of load that some of those advertisements can generate, go for it. If not, find a partner or someone you can send out some of your excess work to, to design for you.

Lastly, when your site is completed, post it on YE. If it looks professional, and trustworthy, and your portfolio and pricing are good, I'm sure business will pick up.

    Best of Luck!

Thanks for the advice. The site in my sig isn't my business but is actually a set project currently in the process of a move to a new server.

Thanks for all the other advice though. What methods of local advertisement do you think would be most beneficial?

Not as of yet i'll be building one in the next month i'm currently re-jigging my business. I'm also thinking about a new name. Something to include web, design or studios etc. As well as either my name Tom knox or a retraction of it or my initials or something of a web 2.0 style.

Sounds great. I'd rather TK than Tom Knox. If you need corporate branding, help with the name, or a logo design, let me know. Prices are affordable. What is your business going to do specifically? I know its web design, but will you be freelance, or have service packages....?
