Great Idea - PODS

PODS - Great Idea…

PODS or portable on demand storage is a great idea. You may have seen them at Home Depot or sitting in driveways around town. What are they? Basically they are storage sheds that are delivered to your house. You fill them up and the pod people take them to a climate controlled warehouse when you are done. You don’t have to haul your stuff to Public Storage anymore - the storage company will come to you.

We are in the process of moving. First we have to sell our house and as any viewer of ‘Sell This House‘ will tell you, thinning out your house is a great idea when you want to sell. We ‘thinned’ out our house and filled up the POD this weekend. The POD people come pick it up on Monday and when we find our new house they will drop it off.

Anyone know anything about the company? Love to learn more about them…

pods

I've heard good things about Pods. I have some friends who use the service. One said the only complaint was price. I assumed the climate-controlled storage and pickup/delivery of the pod would factor into this. I'll be moving within the next 6 months or so, and may end up using a Pod. I have quick question if you don't mind...

Do you need to store the items for a minimum period of time in their warehouse? Pods seem to be more convenient than hiring movers-all you need to do is load the items into the pod, correct?
