Got An Idea? Go With It No Matter What Anyone Else Says!

My company has just began 2 new advertising ventures recently that we were told would never fly..not from anyone on here but elswhere. Do not ever let anyone discourage you If you beleive you can make your idea work here are our examples.

Business one: A unique form of advertising in nightclubs and other venues worldwide where we place your brand, logo or domain onto a self inking rubber stamp or wristband for venues to use in during their admission process. With this method of advertising we can put a clients brand directly in front of the consumer.

Results so far have been great we have 19 clubs partnered with us in Canada and the US. We may have our first advertising client after we discuss this with the advertising maganer of Coors Light as they have been looking for a new way to advertise their club and they think this may fit the bill

Business 2: A pixel advertising site...I know what your all thinking and we were told that pixel sites are not that popular any longer unless you could make it totally unique. So we did just that.

Instead of one large grid we created 52 smaller grids..each one representing a playing card. Once all spaces have been purchased we have a contract to have 20,000 decks of poker cards printed with the pixel ads on the face of the card and the backs will promote the website. With this the pixel ads are being seen online and off. Another thing we are doing different with this is heavy promotion offline the whole time the grids are being filled as well as for 5 years after by printing the pixel ads and website details on various forms of advertising media and distributing them through our main comapany.

Results: We have advertisers waiting to place ads but we want them to wait till we have the website generating plenty of traffic as we should be receiving at least 10,000 uniques within a months time and increasing exponentially each month thereafter. we will also be using Business one to promote business 2.

I will admit that one thing that has helped with this is our main company which has been in the advertising and marketing business since 1999 and already had clents to market to but still these are both very viable ventures and there is probably some variations that can be done with what we are doing that may work for others on this site that are forming similar business on this site. So dont let anyone or anything discourage you...if you beieve in it just do it.

    Thanks
    OP

It depends on what your goals are. If you are planning to simply start a business then going with it will be fine. If you want to make a great business that will be very successful then your gut might not always tell you where the great opportunities are.

I don't think anyone actually thinks Business idea 1 works. If they doubt that, they're stupid because its already working. I think people had an issue with whether you had the right connections to make it happen.

As far as business idea 2 goes, what are you going to do with all those playing cards..... I think thats the part that makes or break the idea.

We have contracted to have 20,000 decks printed with the ads on the faces of the cards. The decks will be distributed as corporate gifts to our existing wholseale cleints, given away to the many consumers who by the product that we distribute and given away to anyone who askes for a deck. They will also be distributed through our stamp ad business to various nightclubs, pubs and bars worldwide.

To help promote the site we are including an advertising card in every box of our product and we have clients worldwide that buy in bulk from us to distribute through their company. We will also promote the site through our stamp ad business by having our domain stamped on the hands of over 10,000 people which we will be doing August 1st to see how effective this form of marketing is.

This is perhaps the most promoted pixel site online with promotions offline an well as on. Once the cards are printed we are also haveing posters, restaurant place mats and half and full page newspaper ads in many publications in the US and Canada that we already work with.

This is not something that is being done by an individual but as a company and we have been in business since 1999 and we have the means and the finances to push this to popularity and gain the most possible exposure for any advertiser. One of the main reasons we are doing this is to promote our main business this will hellp to bring in many new clients and get our name out there before we expand...its all just promotion and if you dont get you noticed then we dont get noticed and we have an investment to protect.

    Thanks
    Joe

    DESIGN DESIGN DESIGN

    Please! Redesign your site entirly!

If you have the money, please redesign your site.

Random newspaper clippings pasted on green poster board, thats what it looks like. I am a fire fox user though; perhaps it will not look like this in IE? Not to my suprise, it was different in IE...but equally awful.

Im glad to see you are having good fortune in your ventures. I like the ideas myself and agree with the message you convey!. Excelsior!

Note: Even if its in predesign stages, it still distracted me from the $50 video posts!

I was thinking about what you meant by newspaper clippings is the grids themselves...It is designed this way because each grid is seprate and represents a poker card. I only wish I could figure out how to put the numbers to the cards in the corners of the grids that are not for sale.
