Got an Idea dont know if its reachable

Greetings all,

I have just came up with an idea that is related to facebook . I wanted to make my own application and get it published , advertising it and promoting it wont be a problem for me, but the only problem is making the application. Is it hard to make an application and what are the terms and regulations for facebook to accept it? If i were to make an application starting from scratch based on my zero knowledge with programming. Will it be impossible?

Thanks all

One option is to hire someone to do it. Facebookster is a company that does this sort of thing. I was talking to them the other day and I was impressed. They charge a fee for building the app based on complexity. The app is then completely yours. You dont have to pay anybody commission or anything.

just a possibility good luck

thanks for the advice jake! I'll look into it, I'm trying to do some research now in building it myself, but i think it'll be time consuming especially when i don't know a thing about programming.

I was actually reading a lot of things today about developing my own facebook app as well.

Like any other programming language, you can learn on your own with some time and patience. I believe facebook uses FBML which is their own version of html essentially.

From what I've read, a good knowledge of PHP helps a lot too. But if your application requires the use of a database etc it will probably be beyond your scope as a beginner. But as I said, with some patience and time you can learn. Lynda.com is a great resource for learning about different programming languages and basics that could help you get started. I believe they even just posted new lessons on the iPhone SDK, I'm not 100% sure but I wouldn't be surprised if they have some lessons on developing facebook appications as well. You might want to check them out. Software training online-tutorials for Adobe, Microsoft, Apple & more
