    Good reading for small business?

I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for some good books to read about small business and how it works? I have so many ideas, but i always too afraid to try anything for fear someone will screw me over. I have no clue what i am doing, and i don't know what to ask - hence the reason i would like a book that just touched on the basics of the legal aspect of things (and even some other subjects, as well). It doesn't have to go into too much detail, just as long as it would give a simple overview so i can find other sources to go deeper in (so i know what to LOOK for)

I hope this makes sense... (as i am writing this it is late and i am really tired... )

Basically i would like a book that explained some of the legalities behind business.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

The E-Myth...solid book for anyone looking to start their own small business. It will help you see exactly which part of the business you would be best suited to run and who you need to get to help you to actually make the thing work. It is by Michael Gerber I believe.

For a basic, information filled book, just go to the library's business section and take out one of those "How to start a successful small business in <your country>." From there you will have a much better idea of what your next step is and which type of books you mind want to check out next.

Another idea I just had was to visit your local SBDC (if you are in the United States). They can give you totally free advice on all the aspects of starting your business...including the legal stuff.

E-Myth Revisited and E-Myth Mastery (Both by Michael Gerber); Read, Fire, Aim by, Michael Masterson; How to Make Millions with Your Ideas by, Dan Kennedy (a little dated, but still relevant) and The 4 Hour Workweek, by Tim Ferriss. These are all great books on entrepreneurship and will greatly help you in understanding entrepreneurship.

    Good luck!
