What is your opinion on opening a bar/nightclub during our current economic time? Suggest anything?

My theory is you can not time when and when not to start a business. If you try, you will just procrastinate and may never see your business ideas come to life.

There were many businesses that were started and thrived during the great depression. Structure your business according to the current economic times. This may mean getting creative with drink specials etc...

I don't see anything especially wrong with opening a bar/nightclub during our current economic times. If anything it could be a good thing. If you can manage to efficiently run a bar/nightclub during tough economic times then you are going to be in a great position when things start to look up again.

Much better than starting a business during a boom and then trying to adapt to a recession methinks!

good opportunity...but usual rules apply
the only failures i've seen seen in this space have been the result of excessive leverage

i.e. people goin out borrowing 2mill, buying a top end property and blowing another mill on renovations...only to discover that nobody really gives a shit about their "india influenced" decor or overpriced exotic cocktails..

what i have seen working really well though are poker themed bars..
