Golf Chum Idea Revamped - what do you think?

Hi.
A week or so ago, I posted an idea that I had about a website called GolfChum.com where I wanted to either develop it into a golf network or forum or RSS - I hadn't really made my mind up!

Anyway, I've been working on an idea, and I think that I may be onto something good. The name is still the same, www.golfchum.com, but instead, The Golf Chum is a little program which you can download to your desktop. There it will start up every time you turn on your computer and will sit in your taskbar.

Then whenever you want the latest golf news or golf scores, you open the program, and through RSS it will display the up to the minute information. This saves internet golf fans (like me!) having to open up web pages and waiting for loading times, and instead gives instant headlines and scores, which can be followed to the appropriate webpages if they want more information.

Anyway, the Pre-Launch Blog is up, and please tell me what you think of the idea. Also checkout the cool logo!

Wow adnan great idea, like the concept of the updates runnning from the desktop, can you pm me as well how you like plan to create the program because its a really neat idea . Talking about that logo it is great, i like how you've blended in a golf ball and that golfer into it , if you designed that your self start making logo's you'll make some nice money

I would really like to say that I did the logo myself. Truth is I sorta got an intial picture of the internet, then I modified it to my liking. So half and half. As for the text, Scott from www.entrepreneurstalk.com helped me out so the blending of the golf ball was him. Anyway I don't really care so long as the thing looks amazing!

The concept behind the program is to use RSS to grab the latest news and scores and display them on the program which my brother has cleverly created using a Gamemaker program!
While version 1.0 may not look extremely attractive at first, It will serve its purpose, and later versions will hopefully be a whole lot more cooler!

Im having a bit of difficulty doing the RSS part, so if anyone can help PM or email me or add me on your MSN (adnan_278 (at) hotmail (dot) com). Thanks!

Do you go on Namepros? I know a member on there who is an RSS pro making sites like rssmini.com rssjava.com and more rss sites.
