    Gettin' Started

    Hey everyone,
My name is Rob and I am literally just beginning my search for success and profit. I've been on this site for several hours already just reading different topics, and I have to say that I'm impressed by how many active members there are. Anyways, I'm still brainstorming for ideas on what type of business I would like to begin. I am new to this, but I am very serious about making a success and want to be taken seriously. Any help that any one can offer will be appreciated. I have an open mind about any business venture and really want to bring something new to whatever I decide to start.

Just wanted to know if anyone has any ideas how I could get a legitimate start. (As apposed to an illegitimate start I guess... lol)

    Thanks.

    Hey Rob,

Your first business will fail but don't worry if you really want success you will keep going for as long as it takes.

    Good luck.
If you want to be rich, sell products and services.
If you want to be insanely rich, create and control markets.
I must create a system or be enslaved by another mans; I will not reason and compare: my business is to create.

You say his business will fail and you also wish him good luck?

A good start for a small business is to get in contact with your SBA. If you can get into an incubator program, all the better. Look into this in your area and see what is offered. They offer advice, training, get you to concentrate on a business plan, etc...

Don't get distracted or lose interest. Last year I believed everything you just wrote but didn't act quickly and slowly I lost interested and failed. Don't lose interest and don't quit ever.

Be passionate about it. If you don't enjoy it you won't stick with it.
Write down everthing you can think of that you'd like to do or that you are good at and see if something pops out at you. Then research it to make sure its 1. in demand 2. can be profitable
