GEN Y-Discounts & Politics

Hey everyone:

If there was a company out there like AARP, but for college aged students, that offered discounts to top youth retail and service companies, and at the same time advocated on political issues important to our generation, such as rising tuition rates, on behalf of its members would you join, and if so would you be willing to pay a monthly fee, and also please post any comments or suggestions you may have on this idea.

Thanks,

Josh Murphy

Not many college aged kids care about politics or world issues.

Whether or not someone would pay a monthly fee for your service depends on how good those discounts are to top retailers.

Are you talking about getting discounts at Abercrombie or American Eagle? If so, I'm sure kids would do it as long as the discounts were greater than the monthly fee

Thanks

Yea discounts at stores like A&F and what not..Also I have been suprised by the response from college students, considering I'm in college, most people I ask think the political part is cooler than the discount part. Many studies have shown that a large # of college kids want to get involved and care about certain issues, they just don't know how to, so that's a core part of this business model.

The truth is, being in college you automatically tend to care more about political and world issues, then those who aren't in college. Mainly because your classes require you to have some knowledge of issues and so do your future careers.

The discount part is actually the easier part, because being in college I can ask tons of friends where they shop at for clothes, technology, etc..

Thanks for your input!

peace,

Josh
