You know, I'm a collector of gemstones and gemstone related items. In this vein, I have an idea that I'm considering, but it all hinges on one thing: the following question.

I see people selling "lots" of faceted gemstones on eBay for what amounts to $0.50 to $1.00 per carat-weight of gemstones (say, for example, a 150 ct. wt. lot of assorted faceted gemstones for $75.00) and I'm curious to know where they are finding these gemstones. I am fully aware that these stones are more than likely to be less-than-perfect quality (you get what you pay for in any case), but that is beside the point.

Anyone know ANY place to get wholesale faceted gemstones in bulk for prices like this? Even if you don't know anything about the gem trade or specifics to my question - any advice, comments or suggestions would be appreciated!

i heard of a place to get good value gemstones at cheap prices. but i do not know how to distinguish between good gemstones and poor quality stones. please tell me where did u learn the skill from?
N did u ever get cheated buying poor quality stones at higher prices?
