    First Website. Several Questions.

I am considering launching a product/service. I have little experience creating a website. My question is where do I start? I understand I need a web domain (any suggestions). I would also need someone to create the website for me. Dont want to spend a lot. Any with any advice on where to start it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Hello CapDog,
well you first will need a host service and a domain, the host service are thousands of them all over the internet, but you can use some of the big companies for start, hostgator, 1and1, godaddy. FOr the domain you can also buy it with them or with another company (the hostcompany and the domain company don´t need to be the same).
Then you will need to contract someone to design your site: that is why i sent you a PM .

    Hey CapDog,

If you're just starting out why not use something like a Hub Page or a Squidoo Lens to set up a site and see if your concepts are even worth persuing?

Heck, I still use them even though I have several websites.

The best place to start: Dreamhost.com - by far the best hosting available. Get the $9.95/mo pack for 1yr + free domain registration and at checkout, use a coupon code (google "dreamhose coupon code" to find the best one) - instead of $110, a year will cost you around $22

    Good place to start

If you are a complete beginner check out Site Sell. It is a bit more expesive than most at $300 for a year, but you get the most bang for your buck. They have some of the most helpful forums and it is set to guide you through everything from picking your subject and the right keywords to keyword density, how to monetize it and so on. The whole shebang. Not only hosting but a complete short course in the subject. Sorry if this sounds preachy. . Lots of Free stuff Ken Evoy's Site Build It.

    Cheers Rob
