joef1, or anyone else, what do you mean by "cleaning the code for search engine spiders"? I'm not familiar with that. Thanks!

use those CSS menus in your site instead of the one you are using now. This will help increasing the text to code ratio, most search engines use text to code ration in their index algorithm. a good free menus cant be found at http://e-lusion.com/design/menu/

You also need some more text in your pages.

Leave the site exactly the way it is. It's fine.

Then you need to go to www.convertlinks.com to see how you can make up to $16,000 a day from it. The site they use in the video looks worse than your does, but they are experts at driving traffic. Watch that video and learn.

chad,
Traffic is important howver, your internet marketing efforts attract prospects and send them to your website. And your site, if properly conceived, completes this process by converting those prospects into customers, leads, affiliates, members, etc.

www.convertlinks.com is more of a landing page which is something completely different than what we are talking about here. Landing pages are designed to receive visitors who have been lured to your site by a special offer, product announcement, customer discount, or a specific product or service. They are used to influence visitors’ behaviors and encourage them to take the kind of action that you want them to take. In convertlinks case its watching the video or clicking the link that takes you to the first step.

Because the home page is the first interaction visitors have with your web site. It should be designed in a away that to address your major marketing objectives in an effort to ultimately increase your conversion rate and return on investment. In your case murphy100601, it should be something about your company and an image that reflects your chocolate fountain business, you did that right however you may want to consider cosmetic factors as well.

Its clear that the owner of convertlinks site is targeting new internet users who don’t know whats going on and I am sure that this site has a very high bounce back rate. again, traffic is important but dont ignore the on page factors or you will be leaving money on the table.
websites like convertlinks wont get you anywhere, they will be making money out of ppl who believe in such thinsg.

I would say lose the background & tidy up the fonts a tad. Believe it or not you can over do it with the jpg's, and whilst it looks good it's also a bit much to take
in. Good effort for a first attempt though

jeof1, you completely misunderstood my post. I wasn't saying the site should be like convertlinks.com, i was saying they should watch the video on convertlinks.com.

If you watch the video you will see that they used a plain old website selling wedding favors and generated so much traffic to it that they make $16,000 a day and $500,000 a month just from that one site.

They should use the same methods used in the video to make the chocolate fountain website profitable. I think their looks fine, they need to get some traffic coming to the site and test different things so that they KNOW what changes are going to effect how much money they make.
