first steps of being an entrepreneur

what are the first steps to becoming at entrepreneur? Every once in a whilel I get these ideas that I know would work, but I never do anything other then think of the idea. I go to school and work at a boring job I hate. I know I have the motivation if I do something if I had a push start. How did you all start?

I found a reason to start. For many people that is the key. Once you find your why, the rest is easy.

Ideas just seep through my pours.
Time to execute them all... not enough.
If I could sell all of my ideas as packaged business concepts I would certaintly become a millionaire, hmmm...... that gives me another idea! See it's starting again!!!!!!!!

Airpr23 is right...your "why" is the most important factor.

And it looks like you may already have it.

The next step is to immerse yourself in the entrepreneur culture. Surround yourself with successful entrepreneurs by meeting and keeping in touch with as many of them as possible. If you're humble, cool, and serious about it, you shouldn't have any problem finding people to help you out. I recently heard that you become the "sum total" of the 5 people you spend the most of your time with. Who are your 5, and do you want to become like them? If not, get a new 5.

Another way you can immerse yourself is by reading as much business and personal development material as you can get your hands on. Find the best books written by successful entrepreneurs and read them. If you'd rather listen than read, go to a site like Audible.com or Jiggerbug.com that let's you download this kind of material and listen to it on your iPod.

Hope this helps bro. You're on the edge of creating a life for yourself that you never dreamed possible. Most people live in insanity...in other words, they do things that don't "work" for them over and over (a job they hate). You've practically already broken out of the insanity because now you can see it with open eyes. You're half way there. Keep going. You can make it.

what is your motivation? if you think that your idea is something that has even a 1% chance of working, then go ahead and do it. I know its easier said then done, but you have to do it for your self. Set out at least 3-4 hours in a week and write these ideas down and follow these steps Aletheides gave:

    1. get idea.
    2. research feasbility of idea.
    3. test idea.
    4. idea works?
    5. rinse, wash, repeat lol

    just make it happen.

I got tired of asking myself "What if?"...
If you have half a brain, you can think of a great business idea!
But that is NOT what makes a person an entrepreneur!!!

    ANYONE could be rich!
The reason sooo many people get stuck at the "I got an idea!" stage is because they are scared of taking a risk! With out risk you will NEVER be successful! Also I hear "I can't take my ideas to the next level because I don’t have the money!!!" BOOO-HOO-HOOO!

You don't need money to make money! (Well at least, you don't need your own money!)
There is a concept my mentor taught me, which he calls "OPM" (other people's money)...

If you learn the skill of talking to people with confidence, you will eliminate most of you boundaries and your possibilities will be endless!!!!

What’s the worst that can happen?

You fail; none of us get it all right all the time some work some don’t

Life is to short doing things you don’t like, why do it? It’s your choice

One of the most important lessons in being an entrepreneur:

Failure is normal and 100% OK. It's part of the process. Expect it, embrace it. And when it comes, accept it, learn from it, pick yourself up, and try again. Nobody gets to success without going through failure first...usually many times.

If you try enough times and fail enough times, you're eventually GOING to succeed big at SOMETHING. So learn, then do. You're going to fail. Get over it. If you persevere, you're going to succeed as well...and you're going to succeed in a big way.

Go for it. You have nothing to lose.

Ask yourself, "why would you want to start business?" The big "WHY" is your motivation. When you do not have the big "WHY" done, you will keep going in circles, staying in your comfort zone.

Does the business idea align with your core value? For example, you are not so much into health, but you go into health industry. There is a conflict here, and you will lose your motivation very soon.

Write down what your goals are and how u can achieve them (make it a short statement like "I want to start a business so that I can generate $3000 a month within 1 year. I can only do this by dedicating 2 hours a day.) Put this statement visible so you can see it throughout the day and read it aloud. You need to realize what your true goals are and take ACTION on them.

Starting a business - selling on Ebay

I started simply by seeing if I can make money on ebay by selling little items from around the house.
Then I found an importer/dropshipper. I was making out pretty well with them until they decided to COLLECT $$$ and close up shop. I lost alot of money on unfilled orders. A couple of months later I decided to go into business for myself by importing and selling the same stuff. Now I supply small shops and dropship for some Ebay sellers.

You need to find what you like to do,
    See if it is marketable.
    Start out small
if it catches, then you can do well.

I wouldn't quit the day job unless your NEW business income far out weighs the day job.

    Good Luck

    Hi there.

Well it is normally difficult to start on your own.

For this reason I suggest you get a free course from the internet (there are many out there) that explains in detail the steps you need to take to reaching your goals.

Of course there is no course which can actually force you to start taking action, you just have to know that you wont get anywhere if you dont believe in yourself and try something different.

I hope this helps in your success!
