First few months with new business.. how am I doing?

Hey guys.. I started a boat detailing business over the winter and have made around $10k since March already. The season for this isnt over.. but it slows down once the boats go IN the water. I figure Illl make a few thousand more of the summer. Then back in it during the fall. Is this a good start? I already have a contract with a marina so if the owners like the price.. I do all there boats. AND they dont even want a percentage of my earnings! I will Probably do about 10-15 in the marina a season.. maybe more I dont know!

I figured next year and the following years I will just get more and more business and my name grows and more people get it done.. Repeat customers etc.

Im 20 So Im hoping by the time Im 25 Ill be busting boats left and right with a full time crew.
I tried hiring somebody... but it didnt really help.. just felt like a teacher.

Give me any info and advice!! Thanks a million! Aloha!

My website it quigleymarinedetailingcom (cant post real link)

My one suggestion is to read "The E-Myth: Revisited" it could take you from where you are now to an absentee business owner in a year. I feel like the system Gerber lays out in that book is perfect for what you're doing.

I recommend sticking it out by yourself for the rest of the season. Try to spend most of your time meeting with marina owners.

I think at this point if you can handle the work load, don't hire anyone yet until you can operationalize your business. Once you have established yourself, it will be easier to know what to look for when you are hiring and then training.

That's great.. Make sure you have a process for your entire operation. Growth is coming and you want to be prepared to handle the work load. if not all your hardwork will tumble down. Don't hire know one full time until you have something secured. Try to keep ur overhead to a min. I think in your type of business.... Your service is the most important thing. So make sure you go that extra step for your customers.

    Good luck.
