Finished Leather Imports
I am communicating with a gentleman in India about importing leather goods, both finished leather and finished products (wallets, clothing, etc.).
I am looking for a buyer in the states. Any suggestions on where best to look. I am searching online as I live in a small town, and I'm really looking for leather goods manufacturers first, to be a bulk buyer.

Hold on a second, let me make sure I have this right.
You're purchasing leather from India?!
Does this seem a bit funny to anyone else, considering the cow is considered sacred there?

It seems that theres still a market for leather in India regardless of religious belief.

I didn't say that there wasn't. I was just curious as to the irony in it from the point of view of the typical American's understanding of Indian culture.

I used to purchase leather products from india, then the supplier sketched out on me. Kinda scary considering i sent upwards of 15k for a single transaction.

I think that what you are proposing makes no sense atall tazman9r. I think maybe you are getting abit excited about importing... are we? Why import when there are plenty of leatheR dealers in America? You clearly have not thought it through have you tazman9r

What does the existence of leather dealers in America have to do with a decision to import leather?

I had the same thought about leather from India, and asked the supplier, and I guess it's not a big deal, religiously speaking.
As far as finding a supplier in America, I have had no luck finding one. I'd be happy to broker leather sales for an American supplier. But keep in mind, that is all I am doing; brokering a sale.
