    Smile Finding The Right Path

Hello YE community. I came here to post for help on looking for some right directions. I looked at many careers that I kind of like, but wasnt really sure if i wanted to stay in that path. I am very interested into gaming, computer security, sports, and learning new things. I have amazing ideas for about anything i get into. I am 16 years of age, but I am not looking forward to college to start my career. I tried programing and I wasnt really into programing or art beacuse i am not an artist, but i have an eye for art. I am ok at computer security, but I want to learn something new so i can soon have my own business. If any new computer languages or anything else comes out I WOULD LOVE TO LEARN IT! I know its long thread, but hoefully it would be worth it.

You know, I hate to get into this issue again, but you should really look forward to and plan for college unless you have a compelling reason not to go. There are plenty of opportunities where you should say, "Hey, if I go to college, I'll be worse off because I'll be passing up this great opportunity," and choose to take that alternate route. However, I think that many youngsters make the mistake of instead saying, "I don't want to go to college," and simply look for ways to make it big.

There's so much to gain from going to college that you will never understand until you've been. Plan to go, and only if it becomes a the worse of two options should you opt to not.

Addressing your question, "Finding the right path", I would ask this question:

What do you enjoy doing? What do you like to do in your spare time?

Make a list of those things, then you ask yourself, "What on my list is currently in demand?"

Now, begin learning everything there is to know about the things on your list that are in demand, especially what those professions make, and how to get into them.

I started playing music in the 8th grade, and continued through high school. Many spoke to me about trying for it professionally, but I didn't want to do music to make money. For me music was good for blowing off steam and I didn't want to make a career out if it. I didn't take my first flight lesson until my third year in the Army. I always wanted to fly, but never had the resources. I could tell you the difference between a pulse jet and a turbo-jet engine when I was seven. When the time came, this is where I wanted to put my professional efforts.

My point, find something you are passionate about now, at 16, because your going to do it for a long time in your life. You might as well enjoy getting up for work. Mix following your heart with knowing (and understanding) reality.
Conservative opinions from someone who thinks a little differently than most.
