    Finding Numbers

For those that make cold calls, what are your ways of finding the numbers of people you want to talk to? You can call any business, but finding the right guy to talk to is the key. What are your methods of finding this guy's contact information?

Sometimes, sources like SalesGenie work. Other than that, it just takes a lot of perspiration - nagging until you get through to the person you need.

Just a lot of selling in layers until you get to the decision maker.

Don't rely on someone else to pitch for you, go through the hassel of making 2-3 appointments to call back until you get to the right person. And don't be afraid to ask someone if they'll be able to make a decision about whatever it is you're selling. They'll appreciate you not wasting their time and you won't waste your own.

The ultimate secret of sales and marketing is persistance and a willingness to try new approaches until you find what works for you and your product.
