Hi everyone,
I run a medium sized Organic Orchard in the Nevada desert. Just this year we became a legitimate business, and have had success so far.
Its Pomegranate season, and while all of our good ones are more or less gone, we still have a surplus of scared and split Pomegranates that still have good arils ("seeds"). But since the fruit is split or scared, it is not as visually appealing to our customers and goes unsold despite the arils ("seeds", what you eat) are still top notch.
We have seeded a few pounds worth of them, and have a few outlets however I was wondering if this de-seeding process needed to be done in a FDA approved kitchen since it is, in one way or another "processing" the fruit by removing the edibles and individually selling packets of them.
Any thoughts? Its Sunday and I haven't been able to reach anyone at the FDA nor our Local Health Department to find out.
