Hey guys,
I am planning to implement an additional marketing service to my existing small doorhanger service that I have started. I Wanted to know if this idea is worth doing and wanted to know if it is also a risky idea. Based on careful research, it is stated in "The Junk Fax Protection Act" that sending daily routine faxes to customers are considered "Junk" faxes which are defined as any message containing advertisements of goods or services.
I know that customers can "opt out" by requesting to call the marketing service, I was wondering even if I were to state this in my fax advertisement, what are some other possible risks that I need to be aware of? I heard that there is a fine of up to $500 in court depending on the situation.
In a way, I think this is a good opportunity to add on to my existing service. There are also alot of companies out there selling these "business listings". If I were to just buy the listing from any of these companies ( assuming purchasing from the cheapest), would it be legal? I heard that you have to purchase froma "registered" seller.
Thanks
