Fan-based Hockey Ownership Group - Would appreciate some feedback/criticism

    Hello all!

I am writing in hopes of receiving some feedback/criticism from fellow young entrepreneurs.

My current project is quite large so here it goes:

I have started an online group looking to bring hockey fans from all across the globe together to become the first ever fan-based group to acquire a professional hockey team.

A similar project was successfully completed in the Uk (myfootballclub and Ebblesfleet united).

Once we successfully recruit enough fans, as a member of prohockeyowner dot com you will have democratic voting power on all team decisions.

Members will also be represented by a Board, which will ensure that fan-owners have the opportunity to present ideas, bring up any issues etc.

Any feedback/criticism would be greatly appreciated.

I also welcome anyone interested in working with us, or having ideas on marketing to contact me directly: gdiamond at fortitudesports dot ca or you can simply fill out the contact form at prohockeyowner dot com

Well the problem you have here is the size of the sport. While soccer(football) has a huge following worldwide, hockey is less popular. Kind of how American football is not really taken seriously in the UK because it's so small in comparison. While I wish you the best in your venture, I just don't know if it has a large enough worldwide appeal to gain traction fast enough.

    Hi Noye,

    Thank you for your response.

While the following of Hockey in North America is clearly much stronger than other locations in the world, the growth has been tremendous over the past 5, 10 and even 15 years.

While I believe the support in North America alone is strong enough for this venture, I do hope to attract some international participants as well.

Once again thank you for commenting.
