So heres a quick question.

Is it possible to make money directly through facebook?

Not like marketing, though, more like creating an application and collecting money directly from it. Or is this not possible and there is no monetary incentive to a facebook only application that is not linked to another site.

I am thinking of hiring a team of programmers to develope an application, and I would like to make money through it. My idea is great and it is a service to college as well as highschool students, and would be great if it could piggy-back on the Facebook platform through the use of an application. But if I can't make advertising money or registration money from it then I may as well create my own site, right?
