I haven't used it but facebook will only work with certain age groups and only consumer products.

You can create a business profile for your company and start placing ads @ Facebook. You can also create a community and invite friends to join the discussion.

Become a fan of pages are also an option and look at industry leaders on facebook and see what they have done, remember to keep it updated and offer coupons or prizes of some sorts

Created a group for one of my sites, and invited fans. I tried Facebook's paid advertising and the results were not great at all. Until they can figure out a way to give advertisers a better experience and better placement, I can't say I'd recommend paying for Facebook ads.
