Export Business Questions

I was reading on CNN about someone who had the idea of exporting used SUVs to Central and South America. I thought this was a great idea, because of the lower gas prices in many countries south of the border. I am wondering, what is the best way to connect to buyers in that area. Also, what is the best way to find a shipping company to send the vehicles. Any thoughts or ideas are welcome.

I am thinking you have the wrong information. The only 2 countries with low gas prices to the south are Mexico and Venezuela. The rest are just as bad or worse than in the U.S. The only thing that could be attractive about this business idea would be related to the SUVs prices being lower in some countries but taxes could make that advantage be inexistent. So just focus on the right country(ies). I am not an expert in this area but my top reccomendation is Venezuela. Everybody seems to want a car down there considering they pay 12 cents a gallon and there is long, long waiting list at the car dealers for new cars (new, as in not in the country before) and banks give loans with open hands. As for connections I am afraid I can´t help you there, so do some research.

I was doing some research on exporting cars because I was interested in doing the same thing. My target market was Africa because I had some inquires for diesel suvs. I have some information regarding laws, shipping etc, that I could pass on to you. I believe the south American market would also be a good market as well. I can get cars with fairly no problems. president of Venezuela will visit China soon, I think there will be contract on oil exporting to China.
