Sometimes I get really depressed and discouraged. What motivates you to keep going?
Would you mind sharing a few of your favorite quotes, sayings, or thoughts on this. I've been having a rough year.
Thank you.

When I'm depressed, I let my depression out and tell someone, someone you can trust, and someone who would hopefully understand you.
After you let it out, you would feel like your friend/family have shared abit of your depression for you making it less difficult to deal with.
I also listen to hardcore music (korn and such) but I dont' recommend that to everyone because some of you might go and murder someone.

This is my favorite quote of all time. It makes me realize that doing, rahter than not doing, requires boldness and strength. Those who want good things to happen to them have to make them happen.
"Until One is committed there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation); there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans; that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves, too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way. I have learned a deep respect for one of Goeth's couplets: "whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it."

If you don't have someone who would listen, just write it down.

some things that help me when i'm depressed/unmotivated:
- clean my desk/surroundings, buy a few plants for it, etc.
- listen to some feelgood music, i.e. John Mayer
- watch MTV Cribs-like programs to get motivated to make it like that one day
- read success stories
anything but doing nothing or just strolling around, this usually makes me even more depressed

I have to say I use quotes as a daily booster to help me along with the rollercoaster of emotions that you face when being an entrepreneur. These always help me put my thoughts into perspective and I thought I should share some of my favourites with you. I have to say the smartest person when it came to quotes was a guy name Jim Rohn, heres some of my favourites:
Leadership/Management
* A good objective of leadership is to help those who are doing poorly to do well and to help those who are doing well to do even better.
* Leadership is the challenge to be something more than average.
* Learn to help people with more than just their jobs;help them with their lives.
* If you share a good idea long enough,it will eventually fall on good people
Desire Motivation
* If you wish to find, you must search. Rarely does a good idea interrupt you.
* Without a sense of urgency, dersire loses its value.
* The whole world steps aside for the person who knows where he is going.
* I am not rich, but I have what can make me rich: brains, education, and passion.
* Failure is only a fact when you give up. Everyone gets knocked down, the question is: Will you get back up?
Success
* The person who gets the farthest is generally the one who is willing to do and dare. The sure-thing boat never gets far from shore.
* The successful always has a number of projects planned, to which he looks forward. Anyone of them could change the course of his life overnight.
* There are three ingredients in the good life: learning, earning and yearning.
* Success is a journey, not a destination.
* The secret of success in life is for a man to be ready for his opportunity when it comes.

Sometimes the journey you are on to be successfull has more downs than ups, i try to stay positive because if get all depressed or let life shit on me, I just cant function, remember, the good thing about having your back up against the wall, is there is only one place you can go and that is forward.
My fav quote i say to myself is... "feed your dreams, Starve your doubts"
