    Ever done business internationally?

i have been contacted by a few companies from europe and south america to distribute their product here in the US.
now i am not 100% sure if i want to do this because i would like to meet them in person and actually see the quality of the product (Clothing, chocolates, shoes, bags, etc)

Anyone ever done this type of business? where you had to deal with potential international suppliers ?

i have asked for samples and catalogs, but havent gotten a response yet (been only a day).

these products would be new to the US. but nothing "unique".

I have had contact with potential suppliers from China but am wary of all international suppliers as they can scam you much more easily than people from your own country.

Paste the company and let me take a little look at least. I will be able to tell a con a mile off.

    now;
there are some "GET THE LIFE YOU DESERVE!" "FIRE YOUR BOSS!" type offers and others similar to that.
but, for the most part they are legit.
If you look under the Products offered section.
i am looking at products from South America, since i have family there, and speak the language.

i checked out your website and wanted to ask you something.
what do you think about dropshipping with companies overseas?
because to me, the main concern is that if a customer orders something from me
it would take a while until he/she gets the product.
i mean i've dealt with that myself, where i ordered a product and it took a month to get here because the manufacturer was overseas.

I was tryin the other way...
I wanted to get an investor to invest in central amercia.

Now on your case. It depends on the type of organization,,,
remember that the labor is very cheap on these countries.
Do some research and good luck.

Get samples, shouldnt be an issue from a serious company.

Ensure there isnt any safety/ regulatory issues (eg in the UK all childrens toys must carry a mark to confirm they have passed safety tests which a foreign company may not have done)

As with most web developers we have had clients from overseas but it is naturally very different when selling a service

Dropshipping overseas is alright as long as your customer knows that the product is coming from abroad.Using express delivery such as TNT or UPS or similar takes only 3-7 days depending on where you are shipping from. The main concern is that the customer will get charged an extra 17.5% and import duty which could increase the cost of an item by quite a bit if the import duty is high enough.

Dropshipping-->experience-wise, there are many scams out there! although I had a good experience with it, our products came from Korea and South America, there are of course some delay (troubles) in delivery but just make sure that aside from marketing your products, you also build relationships with your customers.

I would ask to meet them. Go there or have them come visit. There is nothing better than a face 2 face meeting to strenghthen a business relationship.
