there are lots of ways to get ideas. Its different for everyone.

-Most ideas, even original ideas, are sparked by something you observe.
-You see a business and think you can do it better.
-You see a lack of something in a certain market.
-You see a lack of an entire market that you think could be successful

The list can go on and on.

Yeah hes right, like when I came up for the idea of everythingdormroom.com I couldnt find anywhere to buy decorations for my dorm room...so I decided to fill the market

Look around and see what niches you can fill.

Robert's right. It is different for everyone. It may be their own idea, or existing ideas that they improve or be in the kind of business that you are good at.

you just need a healthy market....Look ive been very successful online, but i am not here to brag, im here to tell you that there are some things you will make lots of money and somethings that you wont! its just this game!

But if I could put it down to one thing, it would be having a strong market, before you even start you marketing process.

There is a big difference in between having and ok market and a blood thirsty cash throwing market, you have to try and get the latter.

I have a marketing friend in a niche that I never would have even dreamed of, but this market has lots of money and throw it at him all the time. I wont reveal it but you would go WHOA when I told you! its a good example of how important reseach is in this game.

    hope this helps

    I think

    Hello,

I think it all depends on what you like to
do. There are several things you can go
    with.

    For example:

    Ebay
    Network Marketing
    Selling information
    Affiliate Marketing

I've been working my own business for
years now and would be glad to point
    you in the right direction.

Why don't you get together with your mates, get a few drinks in and think about things that you'd really like to improve on (already exisiting businesses) or interests that you have.

If your idea is spurred by an already existing interest, your focus on its success will be higher as you'll enjoy what you're doing

It comes from personal experience IMHO. For example, an entrepreneur wanna-be noticed during his grocery trips that the receipts were very long and frankly a waste of good paper. Enterprising as he is, he thought of putting advertisements on the back of the receipts. A win-win situation(get used to this if you want to be a success) was that the supermart he went to gets free receipt rolls while he earns off the advertising on the back.

Nice? Now go to the drawing board and think up of your own.

Disclaimer: Above story is got from somewhere on the Net.

I get a lot of my idea by reading business magazines actually. I like to see what other people are doing and either find ways to do it better or sometimes something completely different comes to mind just by reading about businesses in the magazines. They get my mind working.

I owned an online sporting goods store for 5 years, and honestly, it lasted that long because it was SOMETHING I LOVED. The guys before are right, improving a market (of course not a saturated one) and other reasons. But mine was simply something I was into. I love fishing so I chose sporting goods. The only reason I went onto bigger better things was because the ROI on that business was way too low considering the time and effort it took.

Thank you all for the input. I've decided to do something about it instead of keep on thinking it. so,i came up an idea of selling clothing online. I found cafe press and I came up my own design. Here's the link My Design I just want to learn the process and how things works. Is this consider entrepreneur ? If you can give some feedbacks that would be great.

    Thank you all

sky, I dont think you should do that because:

it looks bad with all of that link, and its not really your's
You are better off getting 100t's for less than 1 buck a piece, and getting a press for around 80$, and do it yourself.
