eFrag Television - Ideas are welcome/needed

I posted earlier in the welcome board, but i feel it would be more appropriate here.

Let me start off my introducing myself. My name is John Oliver, I am the founder/owner of eFrag Television, LLC, a video game shoutcasting company. We launched at the start of June with great success after just a few weeks. When i say success, i dont mean income i mean we where a big hit with the community. We ran into a few problems with funding in mid July and we lost our dedicated server sponsor. That being the backbone of our whole company we are dead in the water. We think we might have another sponsor that might sign on here in the next few days, but we are not sure yet if its going to be a full or partial sponsorship. We still have our buzz in the gaming community, and i would like to turn that buzz into a cash flow. We have tried Google AdSence, but with little success. I am looking for other ways of turning this into a non-instructive (for our viewers) form of income. I am not looking for much to start, just enough to cover what we put in, a few hundred a month with room to grow.

For those of you who dont know what shout casting is, its ESPN but for video games (PC mainly). We do play-by-play, live ingame video coverage, commentaries, talk shows, etc. We are one of the only company's that provide a high quality experience that people enjoy.

Any and all ideas are welcome on way to grow and to start to make an income.

Thanks for reading

I have a few questions that you should answer so that I can get a btter idea on how you make money.

When you started this project what was the original way you thought you could make money? Why did it fail?
What are the current costs of the business? Do you just need money for hosting?

Do you Stream your video live or Do you capture it, edit it and then host it?

Those are some questions to get you started. I'll be thinking of more questions and possible ways to cash in. I'll definitely be following your progress since the gaming sector is one I would like to be a part of.

Til next time ~ Kainin Conway

At first is was a hobby project, we had sponsors who where getting advertisement out of it so they where happy, we where happy, every one was happy. After our sponsors went under, we where left high and dry and at that point i knew i could not rely on other people for help. We are looking for a partial sponsorship now just to get us back on our feet, and then we want to get away from it all together and be self-contained. Back to your question, I had toyed with the idea of subscriptions for HD archive footage plus a few other things, we also do lans events, but most of the money we get from that is just for travel fees. We ran adsense for awhile but only got about $40 or so after about 2 months, so we are looking for something else.

Our old server was about $200/m but it was being used for other things aswell that did not pertain to us. We could get buy on a $140/m server easy.

All of the above. We stream live matches, we save them and then upload them to our archive. We are the ONLY casting company out there right now that provides the archive in HD.

Thank you for your interest in us. I was kind of getting worryed no one would help.
