    Wink EBAY meets World of WarCraft

    I was watching the episode of SouthPark about W.O.W (world of warcraft), and was hit with an interesting idea. I don't have all the fine details, but here is the basic concept:

    1. This is a software app that downloads on the clients computer. There is a monthly service charge for sellers of 50.00. Buyers "play" free. There are no listing fees, or anyother fee.

    2. buyers & Sellers create a fully customizable characters that will interact with eachother in real-time along with thousands of other users in the virtual world that they inhabit

    3. Sellers can create virtual store fronts and kiosks, and can upload graphics and documents from their computer into their virtual store

    4. Users can chat, send "emails", bid on items, and much ...Vastly more interactive place than ebay could ever be.

    5. Because sellers pay a monthly fee, even when they log off, their items in their "store" remain active. Sellers should log in from time to time to check their items. Like ebay, they are legally responsible to send the items once bidding expires.

    6. Sellers grow a reputation. Like ebay where buyers can rate their experience with the seller, something similar would be in place here as well to protect buyers from scamers

    7. Ebay did a study to find why people visit ebay. The top three were:
    * Unique items --> 82 %
    * Easy/ Convienance --> 79%
    * Thrill/ Competition --> 62%
    My idea covers all this

    Something like this would cost millions to establish.
    * Developing the interactive software...this would be like a MMORPG basically
    * The number of servers/ infrastructure needed to host the tens of thousands of users at a givin time
    * Renting space needed
    * Paying for IT people for maintenance, monitor and upgrade the system
    * Legal services to fight fraud and the mountain of other issues
    * The internet bandwidth required

    I was thinking of creating a game similar to this, i was going to call it VirtualEntrepreneurs.com They want like $3,000 for the domain name though and it would probably be very expensive to get a game developed unless I did it myself, which I don't have the time for, so I scratched the idea.

    I like the idea and it's nice to see you've had a think into some specific stats surrounding it. I think you may have competition from Second Life as well as others. There's no need to pick up a 3k domain name. None at all. You can go for something good, different and still unique and cost effective.

    If you need anymore advice, i am a knowledgeable businessman and a web designer with donkey's of experience. Let me know if you need any advice.
