e-commerce website vs. starting a blog

I have been looking around at several ideas for starting an e-commerce website vs. starting a blog and running some type of advertisement on it. I know this is a very general question, but which one do you think will require more time commitment to get going? It seems to be a blog will require less time and money but that might mean the return will be less.

Any thoughts?

It really depends on your niche, there are very profitable niches that do take a whole lot of time to get going. Its just a matter of doing the proper research.

I would say ecommerce if I had to pick one, it would have to be a pretty good niche product tho.

Okay, so from what I understand, I have to first focus on what I product or topic I would want to promote then decide on what would fit best..

Choose what you're most comfortable with. A blog will work but will require daily updates with relevant information.. with the correct use of keywords implemented throughout.

I think there's some issues with clickbank for ad-money making though.

A site would look more legit if you have a business running.
