    DVD Distributors

Anyone know the difference between buying Warner Bros. dvd's directly from the Warner Bros. warehouse in California and buy them from a distributor such as Ingram Micro?

Well, if you buy directly from the manufacturer you'd have to purchase huge quantities..

The distributer buys those from the manufacturer at large quantities and sells it to you at smaller quantities.

    That's a smart move.

I've never heard of anyone getting those lists and being successful.... I've never actually heard of anyone buying the list.

I don't know about the wholesale thing, it seems like a good premise. I just couldn't see myself needing 35 copies of Hot Fuzz. Or finding that many people to sell to.

Try a google search for wholesale dvd or wholesale dvd distributors.

About 5 years ago I ordered $5000 worth of adult dvds from a wholesale distributor. The titles were a couple years old so I got them very very cheap. The awkward part was when the freight company arrived and dropped off two pallets of 150lb boxes filled with thousands of dvds. Those suckers filled up my entire apartment at the time - living room, kitchen, dining room, bedroom...stacked to the ceiling.

I never got the website off the ground so I re-wholesaled them to get them out of my house! That was first, last and only experience to make money in the adult arena. It was a funny experience. I guess the moral of the story is don't underestimate how heavy a bulk order of dvds can be!

Why would I buy a list of DVD wholesalers? ugh. this world. back in the day I had a friend who worked at a used cd store. They'd get catalogs from media wholesalers. The most interesting catalogs were from cut out companies- they'd sell remaindered CD or DVD stock where you could pick up 50 copies of, you know, some minor hit cd from 10 years earlier for $1.99 each. The store could slap a $5 price on it and allow it to sit in their warehouse because they knew they'd sell 50 in the next year. These dealers, of course, should be out trying to sell their products to stores, so they should be making themselves known. I can't imagine someone thought it would be a marketable thing to type up all those addresses and sell them on ebay. That's idiotic.

When I worked as a buyer for a small grocery store we'd go to conventions and the wholesalers would, of course, give you all their catalogs and get you on their mailing lists. Maybe I should have typed up those and tried to sell them.

DAVID - Image what the wife would have said, if she would have seen boxes upon boxes of those dvds.

Hahaha. The best would have been, having a party with that many around the house, and claim the start of a "Small but manageable collection of intresting art DVD's" haha.

Ebay is based on a sucker born every minute rule. You can sell a list of contacts that have no real basis in reality, and if all the numbers are dead, no one cares? Half of the things on their are made overseas.

Fake nikes? Please, you can get 982 pairs for like. $12. Thats the reason Ebay is sketch for things like wholesale lists.
