    Downfall?

With all of this stuff going on with the auto industry( GM requesting another bailout) Do you think that if they go belly up and the brokers take over and if they lay off the entire work force in southwest MI that is around 250,000 people, of which about 175,000 own guns. Could it lead to an uprising of the workers? Possibly spreading to other parts of the country and turning into France during the 1790's? Eventually leading to the down fall of Western Civilization?

I know...very far fetched, but all it takes is 5% of the population to over throw a government. So, what do you all think?

5% of the population to overthrow the government? with guns from Walmart???

Not a chance... I think you underestimate military equipment today.

But seriously, the US gov. is not going to let the auto industry die.

I went through that phase too. You either grow out of it, or you start plotting to make some money so you can be a peer to the bankers you hate so much, so you can put them in their places. That said, I wasn't too impressed with the Michigan Militia c. 1996. Bunch of overfed losers running around in too tight Commie camouflage and carrying Arab made AKs, pretending they were a match for nuclear bombs. I'd like to see them face REAL soldiers. Hell, we can sic the terrorists on them. They would poop their pants and run away as fast as their cankles could go.

Yeah I'd say if they all got let go the bars will fill up and alcohol sales with rise but minimal violence or any sort of uprising. They've been overpaid for far too long and this is partially the unions fault

Oh, I am not supporting the auto industry at all. I am not sympathetic to them, I agree that they have been milking it for WAY too long. But yes, all you need in 5% of a national population to start a revolution and another 5% will join b/c of war attrocities. Making 10% will dipose a government. My source my AP World and European history courses. The French rev. suceded b/c they had 10% of the pop. backing them.
