donating to charity via my site

I have had an idea for a website which could potentially be both profitable for myself and a chosen charity.

My problem is that Im not sure how to go about convincing anyone who is a potential online donater that I will stick to my promise to donate the funds to charity?

How can I prevent people from thinking that i'm just trying to con them out of their money?

I realise that I could try to get an offical affiliation with a charity but for that I need to fulfil certain forecast critera, which I am unable to do due to the nature of my idea.

any advice would be great.

cheers.

If the dontaions are of a certain amount you'll be able to get a tax receipt. Sending each individual a tax receipt might be too complex if you're plans are large, but it's one way. Maybe even an automated process where an e-mail is sent from a rep from the charity to your customer/donor.

thanks for your reply,

Both of those would probably be out of the question....

1. If all went to plan then I would be recieving vast numbers of small donations, too many for indivdual tax receipts.

2. Getting permission from the charity to allow me to use any form of offical correspondance will require me to meet critera that is impossible for me to meet with a brand new company/idea.

Any other ways of putting potential donaters at ease?
