    domain parking: advice + experiences?

    hi everyone,

have just been looking into domain parking (yes probably a little bit late...).
Does anyone have any advice to give based on their experiences? Has parking domains been worthwhile for you or a waste of time? cheers

If you own a few domains and want to park them I recommend sedo.com. If your going to buy domains to park, register at domainstate.com and read the post for beginners, you can't miss them.

It's better late than never. I've done some research on this, and there are still plenty of people plopping down some serious coin into domain parking. If you can get some good names then it will definitely worth it. Have you thought about trying to register .mobi names? The number of people using their smartphones to go online is definitely climbing and most sites worth their salt have .mobi versions of their websites.

Your better off laying down 3 or 4k for a good domain then squandering money on hundreds of dumb keyword domains that will never make money.

If your serious, check tdnam.com, namejet.com, buydomains.com and sedo.com and bring your credit card.

Look for short one and two word domains. If you can afford a .com, then buy .net, org, .info or country tld's like .us, .de, .ca, .im etc.. Don't buy long / weird keyword combos.

IMO, .mobi is a marketing gimmick and .tv isn't a good choice for new speculators.

A lot of websites just use an "m" in front of the domain name for mobile devices, like m.example.com. As mobile devices become better the marketing around .mobi will fade. It's really just another extension with artifical limitations.
